We do intend to have better support for VRP identifiers in future, but we have no control over the soft keyboard on the Mobile MD so that may still be a barrier to searching by identifier.

Can anybody else replicate the described problem with being unable to find an airways reporting point on a Mobile MD, when typing its full name into the Go To Waypoint window and first ensuring its chart is loaded?

Nice to ear this... I like your software and I see a lot of potential.
I think the problem could be bypassed simply by rendering searchable the codename and by typing it without special characters like '-'... so PO-E1 should be POE1

I checked in the chart setting of the MD and for Italy is noted "Auto Loaded" so, assuming that I fly above all in Italy the chart is loaded (otherwise how can I see the map?!?)

Hi Tim!
I have a news about this problem.
In these days I tried to explore the Directories of the mobile with the intention to understand how it's otganized.
I did this keeping in mind your suggestion to verify if the chart was loaded and I replied that it was Autoloaded. Looking in the chart load/unload all countries are unloaded except for Italy (auto loaded) so I thought what happens if I try to load a chart and look for an IRP.
I loaded Swiss and looked for UTAVO and... it found it w00t I looked for another pairs and it worked well.
I tried again with some in Italy and..... it worked w00t

What hapens.... Blink

I rebooted the MD and the problem was still there...Unsure but once loaded a chart other than Italy (that it's autoloaded) the find function works also for the IRP in Italy.

I Think this is a bug... What do you think?

UTAVO is in Switzerland. You will not be able to find it if you do not have the Swiss chart loaded.

I loaded Switzerland (Swiss) as I said...Wink

However... this morning I had a flight to Bergamo and I tried again with the find function with my method... it didn't work Crazy Now the mystery deepens and I'm getting frustrated.
I can't making it work again... aaaargh!!!!

Find it BigGrin
I discovered that find function has this problem only when I change the Chart Appearance (yesterday evening I had US FAA Sectional VFR Charts selected).
At the moment I've found problems with 3 on 8 Appearance:

1- Skydemon Chart
2- German DFS VFR Charts
3- Skydemon Chart 2

I did several tests and everytime I select one of the appearance listed above, Find function fails in the search of an IRP waypoint

What do you think?

That is not correct. The chart appearance has nothing to do with finding a waypoint.

You are observing a failure to find an airways reporting point because the chart containing that waypoint is not loaded. On the Mobile MD if you are not flying in a country (or very close to it) you must load it explicitly if you want to do something with one of its waypoints. Note that if you turn off the device then turn it back on again, your selection of loaded charts will NOT be saved and you will have to do it again.

I don't know what to say Tim... I did the test once again:
1- I selected the chart appearence US FAA Sectional VFR Charts
2- I verified that Italy chart was loaded
3- I looked for DORIN
4- the program found it Smile
5- I selected the chart appearence Skydemon Charts 2
6- I verified that Italy chart was loaded
7- I looked for DORIN
8- the program didn't find it and black screen showed up Satisfied

I'm convinced that this is a bug.
If you wish I did a video to show you the problem (in the video it also showed a crash to system once balck screen appeared).

Tim, I apologize for my english, but please check what I wrote above, cause I clearly said the Italy chart is Autoloaded and I also loaded Switzerland before doing the test
I know, I'm getting boring, but I wish to be helpful for you to fix this problem and let you get your program better and better.
