Group: Forum Members Posts: 4, Visits: 19	I am in the throes of doing some PC maintenance, the aim of which is to free up hard drive capacity on my limited space SSD. I had already installed SkyDemon on the second drive but noticed that the downloaded charts, logs, routes etc.. have been located at Local Disk (C) > Users > Me > My Documents > SkyDemon and currently hold approx 700mb of data. Is there an easy way to get this moved to the second drive or to tell SkyDemon to "look" elsewhere for it? Cheers.

Group: Moderators Posts: 593, Visits: 4.9K	SkyDemon will always look in your 'home' folder for this stuff. What you probably want / need to do is relocate your 'Users' folder to the new drive but this isn't a supported configuration as far as Microsoft is concerned. There is a way of doing it - here's an article which explains how to copy your whole Users folder to another drive, then 'link' the new folder back to the original location on your system drive. Be careful though...

Group: Moderators Posts: 593, Visits: 4.9K	I've just had a tinker with this and it is actually -really- easy to do. Close all apps - especially things like Outlook. Click on your Start Menu, then click 'Your Name' Right-click 'My Documents' and choose Properties Click the 'Location' tab and then click the 'Move' button. Browse to the new location, then click OK followed by Yes.

Group: Forum Members Posts: 274, Visits: 2.5K	Best way to do this is during the initial install. You can apply an XML file that moves the default location of the 'Users' folder. That way if you create any new users their files will automatically get created in the new location. I found it by googling when installing Windows 7 on my current PC (which has a small-ish SSD for the OS) Andy
