They are the international symbol for calm winds (below 5 knots). They cannot be removed.

Nil Wind, indicators. Not user controllable other than to do what you have already tried

Hi,
Could you please clarify as to what the circles mean on this image? I presume that they indicate that the winds aloft is light and variable at that point, or that the data is missing. If I turn off Winds Aloft in Map Layers then it removes all points, as you would expect, but I find these circles a little annoying whilst planning a flight due to their size.
Any ideas as to how to get rid of them whilst still showing the arrows?
