How do you get skydemon to automatically calculate a planned altitude? It seems to stay on a default one of 3000ft, which is no good if you are planning to go up the Manchester low level corridor. I notice that it does calculate the MSA

I've only just got the skydemon trial version today, so don't yet know how to find my way around everything yet

SkyDemon won't calculate your planned altitude for you, you have to set it yourself. You can set your "main" altitude by adjusting the 3000ft level you see in the flight details window, or set different levels for each leg by adjusting the leg properties. This is covered in the documentation:
