Hi Rob

I've checked all the pages from the Swiss VFR manual in SkyDemon and compared them to the official Skyguide CD released end July 2013 and found the following issues:
  • LSGG: The combined chart of the 2 Heli arrival and departure charts is missing in SD.
  • LSGT: The Visual Approach Chart is missing in SD.
  • LSXL: The chart on the Skyguide CD is still older than the one in SD.
  • LSXY: The Visual Approach Chart is missing in SD.
  • LSER: The map from Skyguide is older (07/2004) than the one in SD (06/2011). The page number is also different "LSER HEL 5" vs. "LSER HEL 4".
  • LSPF: The Visual Approach Chart is missing in SD.
  • LSXU: The Visual Approach Chart is missing in SD.
  • LSEZ: The Visual Approach Chart is missing in SD.
I also informed SkyGuide directly concerning the outdated charts on their CD and they are checking on their side.

Regards, Eric

We have now got the resolution in place within SkyDemon, and the files have now been published (Effective date: 25th July).

I would be very interested to hear if anyone else has any feedback or concerns. So far your feedback has helped to identify problems within Skyguide's processes and it will continue to be useful to ensure that the solutions are effective.

Thanks for this feedback Eric.

I am on the case, and I hope that we can clear this up promptly. I am also seeking an explanation as to what has gone wrong to allow this state of affairs.

Hi Rob

Thanks for the info, I've already paid and downloaded all charts.
But I found several errors. I didn't check all documents, but some VAC are missing, some are invalid or 2 different versions for the same airfields are available.

Some charts are missing for the following Airfields:
  • Ambri (LSPM) missing VAC
  • Amlikon "R" (LSPA) missing VAC
  • Gruyères (LSGT) missing VAC
  • Langenthal (LSPL) missing VAC
  • Genève (LSGG) missing HEL VAC (featuring arrival & departure on the same chart)
  • Bâle/Mulhouse (LFSB): missing VFR Area Chart

Charts are available in 2 different versions for the following Airfields:
  • Biel-Kappelen (LSZP): 2 different VACs are available > 04/2011 & 12/2012
  • Birrfeld (LSZF): 2 different VACs are available > 08/2010 & 05/2013
  • Buochs Mil/Civ (LSZC): 2 different VACs are available > 03/2011 & 03/2013
  • Buochs Mil/Civ (LSZC): 2 different VFR Area Charts are available > 03/2011 & 03/2013
  • Luzern-Beromünster (LSZO): 2 different VACs are available > 03/2009 & 02/2013

The VAC of the following is invalid:
  • Fricktal-Schupfart (LSZI): invalid VAC version > 03/2011 should be 04/2013

Another interesting fact is that the charts of the following airfields are more up to date in SkyDemon than on the most recent CD (July 2013) from SkyGuide:
  • Bex (LSGB)
    • SkyDemon 2010
    • SkyGuide 10/2005
  • Leysin (LSXY)
    • SkyDemon 06/2011
    • SkyGuide 07/2002 (scanned Black white picture)
  • Lauterbrunnen (LSXL)
    • SkyDemon 10/2011
    • SkyGuide 08/2004

You may drop me a message if you'd like more information.

Regards, Eric

Hello all,

I have just finished uploading the main chunk of AD information and it should now be appearing in your plate windows as a purchasable item.

Its been a long time, but we are there now. Your feedback is, as ever, welcome.

We've made good progress this week on negotiating with SkyGuide to get a contract in place. Hopefully it will not be too long now.

If other companies are already offering the plates, then it is probably with a contract that does not adequately protect their customers' access to plates.

Hi

Any News about the Swiss charts. I don't want to switch back to AirNavPro, due to these missing charts.

Thank you.

Hi Tim, Rob and the rest of your SD team.
Just a little nudge to let you know that my pilot colleagues here in Switzerland are showing off their AirnavPro with all the local geo-referenced VAC charts included, apparently downloaded from their site at: services.xample.ch
I'm sure that if the folks at ANP can sort it out with Skyguide you guys have a good chance of following suit!
Thanks for a great product!
Awaiting the update.
Bob.
