Fired up SD this am and thought that I would try the "local flight" option from EGBW in the new route dialog box. Was rather surprised when the suggested route had me flying at 3000 feet though the Birmingham CTR! Indeed the whole flight was to be within the CTR.
I am not sure that Birmingham would be very impressed if I asked for clearance though their zone for a "local" from EGBW!
Surely the software should for local flights route you away from controlled air space?Fine to request clearance if you are going somewhere but not really reasonable to have a jolly in a CTR.
Otherwise the software and the MD are a dream.
