Milano TMA error?

Milano TMA error?

Group: Forum Members Posts: 39, Visits: 193	Having just been given a VFR clearance through the Genova CTR at FL085 from Italy to Albenga when en route to Cannes I've looked at this again. I was very surprised as SkyDemon shows the Genova CTR as being Class C from 2000 to FL90, but shows the Milano TMA as being class A from 2500 (or 1500 AGL) to FL195. This also extends out to cover Albenga ATZ Having now checked Jepp VFR/GPS map and Jean Bossy map, they both show the Milano TMA in that area as FL80 to FL195. Leaving aside the fact that it means I still should not have had a VFR clearance at FL085, it does appear that SkyDemon is not reflecting the airspace in the same way. Any ideas / suggestion or is it an error?

Group: Forum Members Posts: 8K, Visits: 9.1K	It is a peculiarity of the airspace in that region. The AIP defines the TMA as being class A in the exact regions that SkyDemon shows. This is straightforward to check in EAD Basic. However, there are VFR sectors which are exemptions to this but which are not published in a useable way in the AIP, and we therefore do not currently include them in our chart.

The problem is that now I need to look at a map as well as Skydemon as the charts provided by Jeppesen and Jean Bossy show the airspace differently and did allow VFR clearance through. Do you have any suggestions (as I'd previously been excited at the concept of not having to buy any more maps)
