There's an issue with the Windows message boxes that we use for displaying detail about airspace and warnings, whereby if there is a huge amount of text it can end up offscreen. In the next version we've switched to our own message boxes, which are cleverer and never end up offscreen or unmanageable.

My first contribution to the forum, but as this thread is about feedback on 1.3 thought you might like to know I tried it on a trip from Popham to Haverford West this week and although only my second trip out with Skydemon, it was just great. I use a iPaq hx4700 with a Tom Tom MkII GPS. My only problem occurred when a NOTAM for Gloucester popped up on the screen and I just could not close it down. The airside solution was to move it to one corner, otherwise it obscured everything else! Was this a bug or have I missed a trick?

That sounds like a great idea, maybe it could be just another instrument that can be turned on or off, but only in landscape mode. I know I can turn on the DI and see the heading, but again it takes battery and screen refresh time, where as the old small black box with 3 numbers in it, that used to display if you turned the DI off was a great aid.

Maybe you could also have that as an instrument that can be turned on/off in the side display, at least you could then select the instruments that you wanted to display, for example: when not using the route planning features the ETA is no good to me, I would happliy swap it for a DI reading or position report !

Interesting idea; you could always switch the direction indicator on though. We are aware that in landscape mode there is the potential for one more instrument on the left, and have been considering a permanent "where am I" display (like you get in a position report).

The V1.3 is a great improvement, it seems to work very well on my Binatone G500 system, even better than before, screen update is faster, and the graphics are nicer from a refresh point of view. The sounds are interesting, not sure if I will hear them in the cockpit though !

One point though please, in the bar down the left of the screen that shows alt etc. please can you put the current heading in there. It provides a usefull gross error check, two weeks ago I did the usual check of compass and DI, only to find that SkyDemon showed 15 degrees different, I then tried a Garmin GPS that also showed 15 degrees of difference, it turned out that the compass was U/S and needed re-swinging.

You'll need to re-download your license file from the website for version 1.3. We simplified (!) the process so that you only ever have one file, and there's no messing about trying to guess which file goes where. But the one last headache is requiring you to re-download the file for a last time, I'm afraid

I have just installed version 1.3 on both my desktop and mobile GPS system (Binatone G500), it was all working perfectly well with the version 1.2, used it for a trip to Duxford on saturday afternoon, performed great as usual.

However now I have version 1.3 installed the system reportsd that I have an evaluation version and wants to shut down in 30 minutes, I have re-copied the license file back over to the device, removed all the files and installed from scratch again, still no change, any ideas how I can make the version into a full version ?

PS: I did install the evaluation version on the device a week or so ago just to have a look, then put V1.2 back on for the weekend flight.
