Hi all

I'm having trouble in that my skydemon software is not recognising my new 796 so i cannot upload routes etc. Connecting via USB and selecting Garmin device in connectivity, but just says no device found on usb and garmin screen locks in charging mode. Any ideas?

Have you installed Garmin drivers so that you can see the Garmin in Device manager?

Even then not sure that 795/6 is yet supported by SD.

We have the same problem with a 795 ,we have loaded the garmin drivers, any tips would be great

SkyDemon doesn't support automatic route export to Garmin 795 in the current release. We almost turned it on once before, but there was a problem with the 795 firmware that could leave the device locking up after importing GPX routes from other software (not just SkyDemon). We are aware that the firmware has apparently been fixed, and if you'd like to work with us by testing a beta release that does support automatic output to the 795 please get in touch, but not until Wednesday 25th April when we're back from Friedrichshafen.

In the meantime I have a quick work round.

First update the firmware in the Garmin using webupdaterfrom Garmin, then leaving the GPS connected to the computer run Skydemon andgenerate your route when you have finished the route goto the FILE menu and ‘SAVEAS’ change the file type to “GPX” thenin the left hand pane select “COMPUTER” and navigate to the drive that is theGarmin, select the “GPX” folder and after naming the route hit “SAVE”.

Unplug the GPS and you should find your route in Flightplans.
