Even if a reliable way could be found to establish communications between an iPad and a Garmin, writing the communication code for Garmin units is quite a large task and I can't quite see it being worth our while unless there is a large demand.

I am considering getting an iPad 3 when it's released (hopefully) in March. That way I could replace both the Windows laptop and Wayteq Sat-Nav I currently use for Skydemon Plan / Nav.

However I also sync my routes to a Garmin 196 as it is rock solid in flight and the battery lasts all day should everything else fail. Clearly that would no longer be possible if I started using the iPad. Would you consider implementing a way of syncing to serial devices like Garmin from the iPad, eg. via WiFi?
