Tim,

I understand what you mean.

It is useful to review multi flight routes when at the planning stage, but it is not a must have feature.

You would not be using it as a re-route or diversion in flight, just at your desk/table when planning.

Sounds awful complicated to me for something many of us wd use once every Sheffield flood.

Remember its so simple to add a waypoint diversion by holding your finger anywhere on the map and inserting the waypoint.

Could not be much simpler. You can also delete waypoints.

I think this would be really useful. When a route crosses a zone you may possibly not get permission to enter so you need to have an alternative route immediately to hand. That alternative needs to have been included in the planning.

To avoid adding complexity I would have single route legs as the default and then perhaps right mouse click over the point oo the route you want to "split" (say 15nm before a zone) and then do the same for that point of the route where the two merge. You should then be able to add in extra points to get you around the zone etc. Perhaps in flight as you approach the leg with the split in it the secondary route is displayed - by steering that secondary route it would become the one used in the calculations so there would not be an overhead of complexity in flight, just a slight one on the ground. Of course the plog would need to show both as well.

Planning of routes containing multiple sectors is something we occasionally get asked for, and something which we have done some work towards implementing. However the feature has not been surfaced yet because there is more work to do, and it's not an often-requested feature. It's also a feature that risks making SkyDemon more complicated for the majority who are happy with one-sector-per-route as it currently stands.

Not sure exactly what you are after but SD does indeed do what you seem to want.

You simply plan all the flights you intend to carry out in the planning software as individual flights and sync to you mobile device. You then simply load the required route on your mobile device pre-flight. I know this works as 3 of us flew around the UK coast using just this method. All our initial route planning was completed before we set off for our trip away (3 legs a day for 4 days planned) and any unexpected changes to the route were quickly updated on the mobile device either prior to take off or in the air. And as the mobile device used was a smart-phone then we were also able to update the weather and NOTAMs for each leg as we went!

Hi.

I have used FlightStar and the German program Flight Planner prior to changing to SD last year. However both these allow the opening of multiple routes This facility I use for planning 2-5 day tours of 3 flights per day.

SD does not seem to permit this. Has anybody got a solution, other than going back to my old software for an overall view?
