Strange enough, but luckily: I did not experience anymore loss of journey logs with Mobile MD.

I am also lacking experimental data, but I will follow this up during my next flights, and keep you informed about progress.

Walter, I have the same problem. I have not enough experimental data (i.e., flight time and flight cycles with SD) allowing me to make any hypothesis about the reasons of this strange behaviour, but it seems that when I use the external power source during a planned or unplanned flight I don't find the expected flight log. When the SD is running on its internal battery I find the flight log.



Of course, the absence of after flight data could only be apparently related to the power source used.

I really don't think that should make any difference as to whether SkyDemon saves your flight log. In fact SkyDemon saves it continuously as you fly, in case of a power failure.

I took the device in the car and got automatically the alert "flight logging started". Great feature the automatic start at a specific speed threshold !



But when testing the device in the car, it was running on its battery. Same when I took it first time in flight: running on its battery: flight log available afterwards.



Now it seems I always lost the flight logs when I used the external power cable, plugged into my Piper Arrow's power adapter plug. It may be useful to mention that there is a central power switch that I switch off before turning aircraft engine off, but I suspect the central power switch does only interrupt feeding of radios and transponder but not of power adapter plugs.



Maybe voltage differences due to engine start/shutdown have an influence on flight log saving.

Next flight, I will explicitly switch Mobile MD device off before turning aircraft engine off.

This happens automatically, and it's virtually impossible for you to have reached any capacity limit. Try taking your device out in the car, and you should see an alert on the screen when you pass 30kt saying "flight logging started". Let me know what you see and we'll go from there.

I am using the Mobile MD GPS, version 2.2.1. The first time I used it in flight, it recorded well the three parts of the journey in the MD's Journey Logs > Flight Statistics. I could also view the journey logs in the planning software under Analysis > Open flight log from libray.



But since then, I am unable to view the journey logs of other flights for which I also used the Mobile MD. Although I selected the route (Route view > Open), and although I could see the airplane icon following the route during flight, there are no new journey logs available; neither on Mobile MD nor on Planning software after synchronisation.



So I wonder if I have to explicitely start/stop log recording on the device, or if this really happens automatically ? Or is there a capacity limit on the device that would prevent storage of additional logs to the 3 existing ones ?
