We don't document every change in the version history, especially those that are only of interest to a limited number of people. Thank you for confirming it has appeared to your satisfaction.

Just wanted to provide final feedback on this.
The requested feature has been added to the mobile versions (iOS screenshot below). Many thanks to SD for excellent service.
PS: I did not read about this update in the "Version History", "Changes".

Regarding "File Flightplan" -> "Prepare Flightplan"

On my iOS devices (iPad and iPhone) I can NOT change the "Flight Type" to for example "training". Standard and not changeable is "General" ("G").
On Windows based version, it is possible to select various "Flight Type" eg "Other" ("X").

When at the airfield, and not having immediate access to a PC, this is a missing feature on the iOS devices.

Any chance to have this feature selectable on iPad/iPhone?

Great news, was asking this myself as well: http://forums.skydemon.aero/Topic35994.aspx  great to finally see it happening!

Out of curiosity, I haven't found a way to file a flightplan from the PC version of SD.... Any chance you can point me to the menu/button/function that allows this? Thanks!

Hi Tim,

Correct.
The ability to switch between G and X flight plans for filing on iPad/iOs. Thx.

Cheers,
Claus

I'd forgotten we even allow this on the PC version. Presumably your requirement is to switch the type to Training, is that right?
