Flyable conditions seems to be a great feature although I haven't been able to use it already in real life. I understand that previously the clouds shown in the virtual radar screen could not show the real top of clouds due to the source of information being the METAR and TAF which publish the ceiling only. What about the new feature now? Are the shops are still unreliable or is there an improvement due to the better data source? It is a very useful information for planning of IFR flights!
Thanks,
Peter

We have tops of clouds data, but it isn't as useful as you might think. Often the tops of the top layer (which is what we have) are not what you're interested in, and really you want the tops of the bottom layer. During development of Flyable Conditions we tried, unsuccessfully for the moment, to integrate cloud tops into virtual radar.

Thank you, Tim, I understand. It would be a great achievement if you would be able to show the tops of the bottom layer, as you said, looking forward...
