GPS jamming perhaps, or simply poor GPS signal resulting in bad altitude measurement.

Based in Suffolk and twice recently I have flown in the Felixstowe area. During both flights I maintained 2000ft but the logs of the flights show a sudden steep descent to around 5 or 600ft, this continues for a few miles before the log then shows a ‘climb’ back to 2000ft. During the flight the nav function was completely normal. Any suggestions as to the reason?
