Trying to plan a route around the South Coast for tomorrow evening (roughly Lyneham -> Goodwood -> IOW tour and back). Getting 'Wind data is not available for the whole journey'.



Any reason?

If you look at the weather window you'll see the maximum time ahead that forecast data is available for. I expect the forecast range didn't quite extend as far as your flight time, at the time you were planning.

Ah ok, that sounds plausible. I'll keep an eye on it in future.

I have a problem when loading a route which I have used before and find the wind data is not showing, or being used.

This means I do not get the correct journey times in the plan.

If I go to the trouble of recreating a route hey-presto there is the wind data.

Unlike a previous contributor I am trying to plan to fly during the period that the wind data is valid.

What am I not doing correctly??

Are you changing the departure time? If it's a flight you originally planned weeks ago, perhaps the departure time is still set to that date?

That is an interesting comment, however these are not flights for which a flightplan is lodged.

Is there anywhere else that you log a planned start time?

I have some saved routes which when I open them immediately show the current wind effect on the route plan, and, others where the wind data remains 00/000.

If I re-enter the same route guess what ...the current wind is part of the route plan!!

This may help? Open one of your routes that doesn't show the wind.

Then click "Window" - "Flight Details" & check "Timings" & "Takeoff" Any time & date set?

Amongst the thirty or so saved routes I have there are about three that come up with no wind info.

I have opened these, and also a number of "performing" routes, and carried out your check via Window and Flight details.

There has been no output, menu,or change on screen as a result.

In every case there is no flight information.

What am I doing wrong??

In the flight details window, please check the flight time. As another poster said, it's likely that there is a flight time set in the past.

What I wasn't doing was to scroll down in the box to see where times were set for Takeoff!!!
