Hi Tim

Would it be possible when I choose a route it is retained so say if I turn the GPS of or the GPS crashes when I turn the unit back on it saves having to re-activate the route and the route re-loads.

In the last week I have done two foreign trips using SkyDemon Mobil. Charts loaded UK & France.

1/6/11 Shoreham EGKA to Guernsey EGJB.

Outbound to EGJB SkyDemon Mobil worked fine until they made us orbit on left base at EGJB. The unit then crashed?

Inbound to EGKA the unit worked flawlessly.

4/6/11 Shoreham EGKA to Le Toquet LFAT via LYD

Outbound and inbound the unit worked flawlessly.

I have also done 2 other local trips using SkyDemon without any problems.

We'll certainly consider automatically reloading the last route if enough people ask for it. I don't think we've heard a request for that before.

We're currently planning a feature whereby in the event of a crash of your mobile device, the next time you sync the full crash details will be sent to us. This will allow us to get a really good handle on any persistent problems happening out in the field.

Consider this a +1 Smile

I had mine crash on me last night. Had to forcible re-power the GPS unit, then reload the route etc. All a bit fiddly while you're in the air.

I can't help thinking it would be better to solve the underlying problem (if it's under our control) and stop your GPS device from crashing in the first place. What hardware are you using?

Sadly, it's a cheapo Chinese unit. It does have (I believe) 128M of RAM so should be up to the job.

It appears the listing is no longer there, but the description was '5.0" HD CAR GPS MP4 Touch Built-in 4GB 128M RAM CE6.0'

I seem to remember I was trying to zoom and pan the display when it locked up. It might just have 'gone slow', but I gave up and rebooted the hardware.

I still think it'd be nice to have it (optionally, or perhaps only if the route wasn't completed) auto-reload the previous route. The first time I used it, I loaded the route for the return flight while sitting eating my lunch, expecting it still to be loaded when I turned the unit back on in the aircraft.
