Since the last update it's obviously not anymore possible to have the choice to see class E or not. I would like to have this option back, because it's not useful to see the borders of class E all the time. The second change is, that now at all the airfields, where glider flying takes place, the symbol is present. Up to the last version this was hidden if one had not choosen under "airspace" the slider "Sporting Activity" . Please, give us back this opportunity, now the chart is entirely overloaded with the glider symbols. Many thanks. Mike

Mike fully agree - so many blue glider symbols all over the screen - no chance to hide them anymore - not understand the logic behind taking away the choice to hide them....

Mike Hello and fully agree – can not understand why SD insinsts in showing all potential places where gliders can be – not only on/around airfields – can even less understand why the choice to hide them was taken out ....blue glider symbols everywhere ;-(

We are not showing all the places where gliders can be. We are showing all the places where winch launching takes place, and where if you hit that winch cable in an aeroplane you will probably be killed.

In general you will be save 3000ft AGL from a launching winch cable. So SD could automatically fade out the symbols during navigation since SD knows the height of the plane. But the glider symbols also allerts you from gliders up, around and above you in the air. So, as a precaution I prefer to see the symbols all the time.

Yepp, understood and not argue glider contact consequences and glider presense - but why SD not allow to hide them like paragliders - contact with them also not really healthy.....pls. let User decide to show/hide as he is finally in charge...

We introduce options to hide certain things on our charts only when a good safety case has been made for doing so. That means that, for example, if someone suffered an injury because they flew into a winch launch cable that wasn't marked on our chart, the accident investigation team would ask us to justify why we allowed the user to hide such things, and we would need a good answer.
Would you like to make such a safety case? "Because I don't like how many of them there are" doesn't cut it, unfortunately.

Pls let user decide again (like paragliders/kites) to show glider symbols as they popping up anyhow when approach ... disturbing more than they of help, a good portion not have glider activities (anymore)

If you think a glider site has closed down, the correct solution is to let us, or DFS, know about it so it can be removed from charts.
It is not a good solution for the user to hide all of them, and then be surprised by the sudden appearance of a flock of gliders or a winch cable.
