Windows reports that SkyDemon is dpi unaware, which means that on high-dpi screens (e.g. 4K laptops) SkyDemon text is furry, as Windows has to up-scale text.  I found a forum entry back in 2017 when Tim said SkyDemon is not dpi-aware "at the moment".

Any plans to make it dpi-aware?  It would make the display much clearer on high-dpi screens.

There are at least five flavours of DPI awareness on Windows, and SkyDemon lies somewhere in the middle. With compatibility tools you should be able to persuade SkyDemon to run at full DPI and the map will fully respect this, but some other UI elements may not be ideal, such as the toolbar buttons being too small.

This will likely improve later this year when we do some work on SkyDemon Plan's UI, and part of this will be upping the minimum version of the .net framework required.

Thanks for the update Tim.

I appreciate that dealing with dpi-awareness is not straightforward.  I can certainly make it work as you describe with "Override high DPI scaling behaviour" by application, although buttons are rather small and the right-hand panels more or less unusable (this is on a 4K laptop).  Default high-dpi settings leave the text furry but quite usable.  I'll look forward to future updates.
