Because we do not have any approach plates for any part of the US.
SkyDemon is targeted at the European market.

So why does it invite me to download charts for Africa and U.S. in addition to individual European countries ?

So, if I want something similar to SD for Alaska is Garmin my only option ?
I really like SD and will certainly use it for Europe and the UK, but are there any plans to expand to other places ?
It is no big deal really, as I only use it for flight simming !
My last flight instructor was last seen running towards a bar, shouting something about "Frank Spencer"..... hmmmm ?!?

There are various flight navigation products designed for the US market. SkyDemon isn't one of them.
