Hi,

I'm an student pilot in Iran and I was wondering if there is any easier way to add data to SD. I tried to add data through custom data but it took a lot of time; I spend a whole day but I could only finish 1/3 of them and those were only airsapces and important airports. You've spoiled me with UK map and I can't really fly with out SD.

Cheers,
Amir.

You're basically using the same tools that we use to create and maintain the data. It isn't an easy or fast job, I'm afraid.

Hi Tim,

I was hoping to find a way to import openaip data into SD, I guess I should hang on custom data method for now Tongue

Best,
Amir.

Hi,

It took almost a year to finish it up but it is almost done.
I have done all the airports, NAVs, airspaces, DGR areas, caution areas, prohibited areas, restricted areas according to the latest AIP. However, there are a few things that I couldn't touch. I have some questions and I am so very sorry for not opening separate topics for them but I would appreciate If anyone could point me in the right direction.
1-How do I get cultural data like cities, railways, roads,...? Is there any way to import them to SKD?
2-How to make waypoints (official ones not the user waypoints)
3-I have some obstacles mentioned in Iran AIP but they do not have altitude information only hight, is there any way to include those in SKD?
4-I have noticed UK plates have taxiways and ramp areas. Is there any way to add extra info to my airports as well?
5-How do I relate my airport to the correct AIP? I have all the links.

At the end If I finish this, is it okay if I share it here with the community or even better make it official?
Sorry for asking too many questions.
Best,
Amir.

Hi Amir, congratulations, it looks like you've done a good job there. Keeping it accurate with 28-day changes to the AIP will be your next challenge.

Could you get in touch with our customer support with these questions, asking for Rob? He will be able to take you through some of the answers and discuss whether we can help you with some additional data.
