just seen a really cheap Amazon Fire
7" screen 
Quad-core 1.3GHz
8Gb memory
dual-band wi-fi
8 hours battery life

will SD run on one of those?

Not that we know of. I don't think they're designed to run "any" app that you might get from the Play Store. However we do provide direct access to the APKs for our Android software, and there may be something unsupported you can do to make it work.

Fire OS is an Android fork. SD may run satisfactorily without modification — many Android apps do — but you will most likely have to root the device and install pure Android.

It's possible to install Google Play Store on an Amazon Fire. That would then get you direct access to SkyDemon from the Google app store.

well it arrived today
just went to skydemon on the browser and installed the latest Android variant
tried first using "location services" (built-in GPS) - never got a location
then tried PAW, - straight in Smile
so for £30 (Amazon Prime special) I have a 7" HD display running my favourite software Smile

It's worth installing Google Play on the Fire if you're slightly technically minded. That way you'll automatically get updates as and when they're released.

I did it on my wife's one, and it wasn't too difficult.
