I sort of agree but it’s so easy to drag and drop with gay abandon that a ‘that might be a bad bad idea/ / you are breaching your pre defined buffers’ caution might encourage sound airmanship. It is a planning tool after all and my suggestion would be pilot selectable. Mindless GPS airspace infringements are on the up, so one could argue that the sage advice you rightly refer to isn’t being followed. I’m probably I’m the old fart category too and teach ‘old fashioned nav’ but also buy into technology aiding good practice- so long as it can be overridden after due consideration.
