I've just posted a beta to our Android page, containing the functionality to create a briefing pack PDF. This is a significant addition for our Android software, and it should function in just the same way as our iOS and PC briefing packs do (also in beta).

I have also tried something which I hope will undo the slow down a few people have been experiencing, but I will await feedback on that as we can't reproduce the issue ourselves here in the office.

thanks for the Android Beta. The briefing pack function works perfectly. Great job! Thanks for this new feature.

The slow down has been improved but it is still noticeable on S5+ (6.0.1) when compared to a Lenovo A8-50 Tablet with significant lower hardware specs.

Android's PDF generator is really quite bad, and when map output is enabled it produces PDFs over 50MB which just slow everything down. So I've turned it off for the time being.

I noticed that in the new Debriefing Pack you are allowing to inlude the map. So can we expect to have it also in the Briefing Pack in the near future?

The debriefing pack has always included a map.

We disabled the chart output in the Android debriefing pack because it resulted in PDFs so large you then couldn't open them, because Android's PDF generator often doesn't optimize very well. I acknowledge that decision is a couple of years old now so it's probably time we reviewed it to see if current devices still have the problem.

Unf‌ortunately, many people have old Android devices and the problem will still be there. It'll be a bad experience for them and SkyDemon will get the blame.‌ ‌‌

Please note that 3.9.1 came out of beta last week. It is now the current public release.
