Hi Dave,

I think you may be getting 2 functions confused.

If you connect your Skymap and download your 'track' from your Skymap to SkyDemon, then once it is downloaded, you can then use the 'export to file' to save your 'track' as a GPX file.

If you create a 'route' within SkyDemon, then you can use the 'Save As' function under the ROUTE menu to save the 'route' as a GPX file, which you should then be able to load in to your Skymap.

Hope that helps.

Dom

'export to file' is an option under the Analysis menu but is greyed out, there is also an 'import log from file' which is not greyed out.

I have not been able to load a route from Skydemon into the Skymap, but downloading the log after a flight works well, using a serial to USB converter.

Not sure how to "export log to file".

But I would like to ask whether you are able to connect Skymap to Skydemon plan and then down load a route onto the Skymap (as you can with garmin devices). I realise this is an option on SD but Skymaps seem very fickle.

Thanks

David

I have a Skymap IIIC and am running Skydemon V2.0.0. I can download flight logs from the GPS and save them to the library, but the 'export to file' is always greyed out.

What am I missing?

Ignore me! I'm being a numpty!

You need to go to 'Analysis', 'Export log to file...' then it works!

Today I used Version 2.0 for a flight from Kemble to Turweston and it worked well.

After my flight, I always sync my mobile device to SD Planner. In the past I'm sure I've been able to then save the track as a GPX file so that I can upload it to Everytrial.com, so that others can take a look at where I've been flying.

Tonight I've tried to save my track as a GPX file, but the file appears to be empty!

Am I going mad and has this never worked or is there an issue with saving tracks as GPX files?
