SkyDemon crashed on me while in flight at least once on every last flight. This occurred only if I manipulated the screen (zoomed, scrolled a map etc). It could be easily restarted. Ipad mini behaved as normal.
I did not got this with any version (i skipped the last 4-6 months of new versions).
I had all maps for entire europe installed plus several high-res terrain-tiles.

Is this actual version known to be crash-prone? Or is it a known behaviour if having a lot of maps installed?
Removed most of the maps-we'll see if this remedies the fragility
It's outright dangerous if relying on SD as primary navigation tool.

You didn't mention which version you are using, but no, we are not aware of any significant crashing problems with SkyDemon in any recent version. All software running on general-purpose consumer electronics devices is subject to crashing due to external factors. The fact the software did not exit on your iPad Mini lends weight to this assertion.

Again - we have observed absolutely no increase in the number of crashes from SkyDemon since version 3.5. Our customers are not shy of keeping us informed of such things.

It is Version 3.6.0.37 running on an Ipad mini running iOS 8.3. I skipped 3.5 and I don't remember these crashes from v 3.0/1

It might be worth upgrading to the latest version of iOS, as many bugs in operating system stability have been resolved over time.
