Posting a photograph of what the screen looks like when this happens might be helpful. Perhaps you can convince it to repeat during a local car journey?
I was beginning to think it was just me! One thing I have discovered since I wrote the post is that my software variations were not absolutely up to date: SD plan was 1.4.4 but my PDA was still on 1.4.2.
It would be interesting to know if you have both on 1.4.4. If so, my hope that this might fix the problem could be dashed. I had the same thoughts about my PDA capacity and the increasingly sophisticated software, but then I'd expect more people to have had this issue. They can't all be using the latest gadgets.
Anyone else out there hit the freezing screen issue?
Fine going, but halfway into the return journey, lost the main map only.(Vertical Nav still functioning) This has not happened before. However, SkyDemon is running on an oldish Navigo V2 4.3" screen with only 64 MB RAM, so hard to say whether it is the program or the software. As the software gets more sophisticated & has to perform more functions, maybe it's pushing 64MB to the limit?I did have to reboot the satnav to get it working again.
Regards,
Max.
However, during the past four trips I've experienced a problem with the main mapping window freezing and completely blanking out - requiring me to reboot in-flight with all the distractions that involves. Only the map window develops a fault; the Enroute Features window and the ETA/Altitude data etc is not blanked out. Indeed when viewed later the flight log shows the GPS tracking continued in the background.
If no one else has experienced this issue then I suppose it might indicate a fault with the PDA, even though it is dedicated to SD and hasn't had any other software added since SD was originally installed. Any suggestions would be welcomed.
