Getting WIN 8/10 Tablet to work on Skydemon using internal GPS

Having spent months trying to make this work on my Toshiba Encore, finally managed it…

Need to download a com port emulator that will convert the built in tablet GPS signal into one that comes from a COM port, so that Skydemon can see the feed.

http://www.turboirc.com/gps7/ have you heard of or tried this? It's free and it may be the same thing but I can't confirm as I haven't played with either yet and tried to get it to work.

I am running Skydemon Plan on a Surface Pro with Windows 10.
The planning functions are all fine, but I wondered if I could use it in the air. I currently use SD on a yoke-mounted 7" android tablet when flying, but when I am RHS pax the Surface Pro's bigger screen might be useful.

The Surface Pro does not have any internal GPS, so I must use an external one. I can pair an external GPS (eg Dual XGPS150A via Bluetooth) but the next step wasn't obvious.

Before I start researching further, with associated tearing out of hair :-), has anybody made any kind of external GPS work with SD Plan on a W10 Surface Pro? Or know of any links? Or am I wasting my time on this?

I just found a Tim Dawson post from last month pointing out the limitations of the PC version for in-air use, but I would still appreciate any pointers if anybody has made this work.

I have similar problem with Dual XGPS160. I am using SD PC and Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga. The bluetooth pairing seems to be OK, I can see serial ports in Bluetooth control panel, but in SD in the GPS Navigation options the same ports appear with some wrong characters, which appear to be random. Sometimes they are eg. chinese like in the example below.



If I remove the wrong characters and click start GPS, SD tries to connect the GPS. The bluetooth led becames blue, as it should, but after few seconds SD says the connection to GPS has been lost. If I try again, SD says the connection to this serial port is prohibited. Furthermore, if I disconnect the bluetooth paring SD crashes - always.

I also tried the Localizer, but I now understand it is only  if you have an internal GPS.

Anyone having a fix to this problem? I have been using a GPS with an USB connection so far, and there has been no problem with serial ports.

I wanted to use my Surface Pro 4  W10 with SD.   After reading the forums and even with advice from a moderator it seemed that I needed either the Centrafuse software, which granted was only $15,  or the equivalent from turboirc.com.  I was tearing my hair out trying to get this combination to function with no success.  It was only on a more general forum about using the Surface 4 with other road map software I read a post which simply said "you don't need extra software, just plug in your external GPS to the USB socket" (in my case a GlobalSat BU-353S4 from Amazon). 
So I did and it just worked fine, including with SD no problem at all !!
