Hi Dave. Southend Director isn't notified as the normal contact frequency for penetration into that airspace so it's correct not to have it listed on your PLOG all the time. It's not unusual to be passed on to a backup frequency if the primary one is busy, but I don't think that should mean we always include backup frequencies in the PLOG, as that would cause clutter. A shame you got a sigh when you asked the controller to essentially do their job, and give you the information you needed.

During my successful transit of the Southend zone on Saturday I was passed over to Southend Director on 128.950 which I wasn't expecting as it's not listed on my PLOG (Radar, Tower, Approach and ATIS are listed).  Unfortunately this resulted in a rather audible sigh from Southend Radar when I asked for them to repeat the frequency.
Should the frequency have been on the PLOG?

Thanks, Dave
