Hi all,
does anybody know if there is a possibility to send the flightplans from an ipad via Bluetooth to a Garmin G3XTouch. This would be amazing. G3XTouch has this capability.
See extraction from the descrition of G3XTouch
---------------------------------------------------------

Also new, G3X Touch offers the benefits of Connext cockpit connectivity. Pilots are offered the convenience of flight planning on a tablet using Garmin Pilot™ and the simplicity of wirelessly transferring flight plans via Bluetooth® to the G3X Touch system. A G3X Touch system with a GDL 39R shares GPS, attitude, traffic and weather data with a mobile device for display using Garmin Pilot.

---------------------------------------------------------

If not - any possibility to implement this in a future release?

I doubt it, Garmin tend not to like letting third parties connect to their stuff.

Hi,

Any change of thinking on this? I see Foreflight now integrates with Garmin kit, so there seems to be some relaxation of 3rd party connection on Garmin's part.

Thanks

Garmin have confirmed that for the moment, they are not interested in letting third parties (in Europe) communicate with their devices and wish to lock people to using only Garmin gear.

In America the situation is slightly different, as you have observed. ‌‌

Are there any changes to Garmin’s policy? This would be a great feature, and I could imagine that given SkyDemon’s popularity another 2 years later it could be seen as a valuable feature to Garmin as well!

Cheers, Peter

No change, but we will lobby them at Aero 2020 as we do every year. If you're visiting the show, do the same, it will help persuade them.

It is still Garmin's position that they do not wish to receive flightplans or otherwise integrate with SkyDemon. We continue to lobby them for change, even in the last couple of weeks.
