I have just been on my second nav lesson, using a printout of the chart generated by Sky Demon for the route. Near Sherburn in Elmett, I was struggling to find land features to verify my position and my instructor pointed to a wooded area near the airfield. He then looked at my map and noted that it wasn't on there. After this, he criticised the map for not having all the features of the 0.5 mill charts and saying that if we had to rely on this chart, we would have remained lost.

I have since investigated the software to see if it was a feature that needed to be turned on in the mapping section. I do have a button that says "Show Trees", but it doesn't seem to do anything. Can anyone else see what this button does, or tell me how to get the wooded areas to show on my charts?

Many thanks
Dean.
