A few times, colleagues and I have found that when we go to activate a flightplan in France filed via SD, the French say they have no knowledge of it. Going again this week and will see if it happens again. At the Flying Show, I discussed this with the NATS/AFPEX team as well as with SD. It appears that AFPEX had the same problem. They started by just sending to the French hub (as formally requested) and same result. FIX - add addresses of departure airfield and regional ATC automatically as belt and braces.I wd like to do the same and see I can do this in SD ... BUT pl can someone tell me where I can get a list of addresses in Flightplan speak. Indeed perhaps SD could have a "+" button that comes up with probable addresses dependent on departing French airfield. So far not been prevented from flying but it is a bore.Anyone else had the same thing?David
This doesn't happen often, but with literally hundreds of flightplans coming from SkyDemon on a nice sunny day, it certainly happens sometimes. The issue is that the French who are supposed to receive your flightplan and send it onwards do not do the job, or don't do it in time. There is no good solution to this at the moment from a provider's standpoint; I believe AFPEx stopped adding the departure tower automatically themselves due to complaints from the French so it wouldn't be a good idea for us to do it.If you want to add the address of your departure tower yourself you can do it. The ICAO convention for "control tower" is to append ZTZX to the ICAO code of the airfield.
