Yes. In fact, as Steve above alluded to, this has already happened in mainland GB.

Tim, can/will the scenery data accuracy be improved in the longer term?

Some of our scenery data (roads, railways, coastline, urban areas, towns) can be off by as much as one nautical mile, because it is small scale and is essentially only used illustratively.

All aeronautical data is exact. If you have more small strips to add, you can submit them to FlightNav.co.uk (assuming the strip owner wants them publicised) and they will filter through into SkyDemon charts next update cycle.

Are you definitely running the Beta version with the Beta charts?

The inaccuracies with road positioning are fixed in this version.

I'll give you a really quick test to do - if you find M4 J16 VRP (near Swindon), you will see that the VRP is located exactly on the road junction if you're running the beta. If you are using the previous version, the junction is about 300M away from the VRP.

Is it possible in mapping to use Google Earth in lieu of Google maps? The former allows one to fix positions as coordinates and heights are given. I have been able to fix and chart several strips which are not show here in the UK and in France.

I have been evaluating the package in my car using a cheap Chinese antenna/gps receiver and a Netbook, it works well except the 'aircraft' is always 200m or so off to one side of the road. If this is the fault of my equipment fine but if the program/maps are wrong it would be a problem if an ILS was introduced

Thanks for pointing this out. It's on our radar to do something about; we might just fade out the view temporarily to say that it's recalculating the display.

A minor problem with the latest beta 1.4.3.19605:

When modifying the altitude for a leg by dragging the magenta line vertically in the enroute window, after releasing the mouse button the magenta track line is redrawn first at the old altitude and then some time later at the newly selected altitude.

This is not a problem for short routes, but for long routes with lots of waypoints the delay can be up to 20-30 seconds before the line is correctly redrawn at the newly selected altitude. This can cause some confusion as it appears that the altitude change has not been successful.
