Just done a fantastic trip to France in a great wx window.

Probably the first long trip I have done using ipad mini. I did notice that the virtual radar kept disappearing and displaying the message that it wd appear shortly (which it always did after a few seconds). Difficult to say what might be causing it. One thought is that the default cruise height is 3,000 feet and we were flying at or near this altitude. With such good weather I was not paying much attention to accurate height and maybe it was a scale redraw problem.

Not a huge problem in the scheme of things and in all other respects flawless - just slightly annoying.

Data in Virtual Radar is recalculated periodically as you have of course moved forward in position. This is normal and it shouldn't take more than a second, usually much less. Only if you change course by a significant amount would it temporarily go blank while new data is calculated, since it can't represent your position in the old data.
