I flew the with the newest iPAD updates as well as the Win CE several trips over the past 2-3 days. I had the maps of several other countries with the UK's in both devices. I can not say I noticed any problems in mapping update. For those who are experiencing sub-optimal map rendering, is it worth re-installing SD or ensuring logs and routes stored are kept trimmed in the device?

We looked into the problem and verified that no rendering code changed between 2.4.0 and 2.4.1. Our own tests of map rendering at various locations confirms that there is no noticeable difference in speed, and everything seems to be working as it should be.

I'm not sure if I understand what you mean when you say that you are "suggesting that it is in fact not slower".
I think I saw that some other users also noticed the same thing abt the refresh rate, so my question again:
Will you look into this issue?

Just to add a further update. The latest SD was used on an iPad in a 737 Newcastle to Murcia yesterday. No Problems with map rendering were noted. Moving the map manually around the aircraft, up and down as well as sideways during the trip resulted in a bit of a delay, 3-5 seconds only. I feel this was understandable and expected at high speeds close to 500 Knots, with full options on the charts between 1000-50,000 feet, selected. Such events did not materially affect the flight.

DA40, I looked into it again, and it's still not slower. Sorry.

Any ideas undated SD today, then went flying all worked fine but ipad2 screen kept turning itself down so had to keep touching the screen every couple of mins so I could see what was going on, before update all fine.
