Could this be made available for iPad users so that I can have them available in case of diversions and to minimize 3G charges for European touring?

Thanks

Sorry, this is never going to happen. Are you aware that "all plates" come to around 20gb? If we made such an option available to our many thousands of subscribers, our servers simply couldn't cope with the (very expensive) bandwidth demand that would result.

The closest we may get to this is an option to download all plates currently being offered in the plates window.

Hi Tim,

thanks for replying to this.

Maybe all plates within 20NM of the planned route coul be made available for download? I have had a number of weather diversions somewhere in Europe where it would've been really nice to have the plates.

I would happily pay an extra few pounds a year to enable you to get higher bandwidth on your servers Wink

Reading this post again Tim I would have to disagree with you about the EAD servers. Surely the EAD website and servers is designed to cope with hundreds if not thousands of simultaneous users. One of its primary services is to provide online access for the aviation community across the whole of EASA land, including access to and downloading of plates?
