Hi I have a feature request regarding how SkyDemon handles route leg transitions when connected to external autopilots.
Currently, SkyDemon signals a new leg exactly when reaching the waypoint. For pilots using older or simpler autopilots, this results in an "overshoot" (a pear-shaped turn), where the aircraft passes the waypoint and has to hunt back to find the new track.
On older aviation GPS units (like the Garmin GPSMAP 496), there is a great feature where the user can select an advance distance (e.g., 0.2 or 0.5 NM) before the waypoint to trigger the next leg sequence. This allows the autopilot to initiate a smooth turn and intercept the new leg perfectly without overshooting.
Would it be possible to implement a simple setting in SkyDemon where users can manually set a "Waypoint Advance Distance" (or Turn Anticipation distance) before the signal for the next leg is sent?
This small addition would greatly improve the autopilot integration and flight smoothness for many pilots flying with legacy avionics.
Thank you for a great product and for considering this feature!
Best regards, JOhan Ekroth
