Without extensive research on any possible existing requests, I’d like to have the possibility to automatically sync the virtual radar visible portion to the visible segment of the route presented laterally. My suggestion would be to add a small icon to the zoom functions of the virtual radar to toggle this synchronisation. I did not yet take into consideration how this would be presented for 2 segments visible in the lateral view, for example seeing 2 parts of a loop. I am confident the very cunning dev team will have a solution for this.

Do you mean when in planning mode? 

Yes, indeed, in planning mode. I'm fully aware of the option to manually pan and zoom the virtual radar, but I'd also would like to be able to have it automatically sync to my visible portion of the route.

"Visible portion of the route" is far too wooly to make this work, in my opinion. Given the wide range of device screen sizes available, not to mention the track up / north up divide, I can't see a sensible way of keeping the zoom levels consistent when in most normal usage, the main map is showing way more distance than virtual radar anyway, and that seems to be the way most people like it.
