Just played with it a bit. Excellent. Of course there are still features missing but I'm sure you'll add them shortly.

The Metar button displays weather and wind together.
The Wind button doesn't seem to do anything.
  • I've just checked this, and the Metar button is toggling the METARS on and off, with the wind button toggling the wind on and off just as intended. Can you replicate this error?

What would be useful is when pulling a point off the edge of the map, if the map scrolled to allow you to reach a point off the edge of the display.

  • Interesting. This has gone onto the "features to consider for the future" list.

Would be great if could copy/paste the message box errors. Generally get quite a few pop up on each use.

  • Copy and pasting from Silverlight applications is not possible. However, if you want a record of errors may I suggest the PrintScreen button on your keyboard? You can then paste the image into an email to send if required.

Is there a roadmap/timescale for the rest of the features, including some way to export data to gps and print more of the info page along with the plog?

  • These are the tricky things to implement, and it may even be that we will never do GPS sync direct from the web version. The security factors with letting a browser application access your computer ports would make this complicated, and we only like to use features which are simple and effective. For other features there is no road map. We work on what we can and make sure we do it right rather than rush to meet a deadline.

Are there any pricing plan available for the web version yet?

  • If you are a SkyDemon license holder, you get access to SkyDemon Web. No extra charge. There is currently no plan to offer a SkyDemon Web only license.

Hi Rob,

Thanks for the feedback.

I've answered a few things below, although I have to say I was hoping that (as a Mac user) I could ultimately use the web version as the main software for planning. As impressive as the web version is, if it won't end up having the key features of the Windows version, then I suppose I'd have to consider whether to stick with vmware and windows or not. I already have a planner on Windows which I'd hoped this would replace!

In terms of GPS data, could the software not just export a file which could then be imported into the Garmin by the user? A bit messy in terms of extra steps, but if it's possible it would be a good halfway house, and this really is a key aspect of the software.

>I've just checked this, and the Metar button is toggling the METARS on and off, with the wind button toggling the wind on and off just as intended. Can you replicate this error?

--A restart of Safari and the program, the buttons do the same thing. Metar brings up weather and wind graphic all in one. Wind toggle still does nothing. There are some errors scrolling up in the messages box. Not sure if they are related.

--OK

--On Mac this is the grab utility, which is what I was doing - just takes a while to crop/save etc. Just thought it would be easier to send you if it was copy/pastable. No biggie. Is the log written out anywhere to disk as text just out of interest?

--OK. I would certainly pay for 'casual' access to the web version when required (or subscription) if you see what I mean. Pending the gps data situ. Just FYI.

Cheers

Possible, but again, we are unlikely to settle on an option until we have explored as many as possible. If this turns out to be the most effective way for us to do it, then thats probably what we would do!

A restart of Safari and the program, the buttons do the same thing. Metar brings up weather and wind graphic all in one. Wind toggle still does nothing. There are some errors scrolling up in the messages box. Not sure if they are related.

I think in this case it would be great to see these errors to try and deduce whats going on. Could you send us an image using your mentioned Grab function?
