Hi

This has been mentioned in various places, but I thought I'd stick it here as an official 'suggestion'.

I believe it would be extremely useful if there was a live plog - by which I mean a screen which at a glance shows you the ETA (and maybe distance) to all your waypoints.

Twice last weekend I was asked to report an ETA at a particular point, and both times, because that wasn't the next waypoint, there was no easy way of doing this.

Cheers,

Steve

A live auto updatable Plog (ala Garmin) would be very useful. Indeed anything that revises and auto-updates our : ETAs, leg Tracks, leg distances, fuel requirements, and even sunrise and sunset times throughout the flight would be most welcome in the cockpit as it frees the (usually single) pilot operator to focus on other tasks.

Putting it simply, If we consider a complete flight plan as an essential requirement for a flight (PinkLeader and I discussed this briefly in person {in somewhat a humorous way} a few days ago when I was in the UK), then surely a flight plan that updates itself automatically throughout the flight would be useful. It becomes more so when flying in a relatively busy airspace or when flying across multiple waypoints. London information and radars frequently ask for ETAs or to report at a given distance from a certain waypoint along that track. That given way point would not necessarily be the "Next Waypoint". Hence the value of an auto updatable, fully scrollable table of a flight plan. The same becomes even more important in IMC. I recognise that SD is not meant for IMC conditions, but so are all the portable Garmin devises. Yet they did have this feature in all models ever since Pilot III was brought out some 13 years ago.

Incidentally, I for one, am very impressed with SDs display of the interpolated DME to the runway threshold on the instrument screen, which shows a job really well done.

Realistically, we all do different types of flying which explains our differing needs and expectations from SD. Of course all this discussion shows how passionate we all are about SD.

Very Newbytheway
