At the moment, I see many wrong METAR indications in the map.
Example:
EDFH indicating "I" in map, while the METAR-infomation says CAVOK
ETSB indicating "M", METAR also CAVOK
EDDF indicating "I, METAR CAVOK
All METAR info is currently 20~25min old.

WHy this? I haven't seen those discrepancies so far

This oddity is there for quite some time and you can adjust it by yourself, setting the values.

The V, M & I indications on the map are set according to your preferred weather minima:

On the PC – Setup > Planning Options > Weather
On tablet – Settings > Planning Options > Weather Minima

True, but if you set the visibility of your personal ‘good’ weather to 10,000 metres, which is the max value in this field, all airfields with a visibility of 9,999 metres (which is the max value in metars and which means 10 km and more) show the ‘M’ (marginal) indicator, which is not correct imho.

I’ve contacted SD some time ago about this phenomenom, but haven’t got an answer by now.

Interesting, I wasn't Aware that  there could be a difference in what the METAR says and what SD indicates.

Maybe  that came as another app (Aeroweather Pro) decodes the METAR and  classifies between VFR, MVFR,IFR and LIFR without asking me about personal Minimums.

drnicolas,

SD indicates as to your personal settings, but the SD programming team has not been aware of the situation users setting their personal minimum for good weather to 10,000 metres. The max. value in metars for visibility is 9,999 metres. These 9,999 metres in metars mean there is a visibility of 10 kms and more.

If you have the above described setting SD will show ‘I’(MC) incorrectly.

As an aside, SD always shows ‘I’(MC) as well if the metar doesn’t contain any cloud information (for safety reasons).
