With iOS13, it is possible to import/export any file from/to SD Cards.
Could we add this feature in SD to import/export routes?
With that, we will finally have the opportunity to plan a route on the iPad/iPhone, export it to a SD Card and then feed that information in a Garmin G3X Touch. A great time saver!

I also think this would be a nice feature. Work around at present is to use the send by email option in the route menu. This produces an email with a series of attachments one of which is a Garmin compatible flight plan. Alternatively you can export to Garmin format from the desktop version of the software.

I use the iPad to plan and an MGL Odyssey in the aircraft. Would be lovely if the transfer worked vie SD card.

I guess the only way to do it is to round trip the plan from SkyDemon to the MGL flight planner as a .gpx file, then export from there as a .ert file for the MGL efis. Bit of a pain in the butt

Absolutely! An easy path, independent from Garmin's strategy re opening Connext to third parties, and an important step towards travelling light with iOS devices!

Hey Tim,

Any chance to have this included in a next release?

I saw others raising it in a seperate tread as well.

And with more and more planes having Garmin avionics, it would really help...

Txs

No chance in the next release. We'd consider this, as we consider all suggestions, but only if we saw a significant demand for it. Otherwise, the simplicity of the product wins, sorry. We do make it easy to export the current route to Garmin Pilot, to make it easier for people to then upload that route into their avionics, perhaps Garmin Pilot supports saving to an SD card?

I don't see that the export option in the PC version makes it less simple. It appears only in the save dialogue. So it should not complicate the App in iOS also.

You could use the Share option, option mail and cut&paste into the Files.app ? Yes, it is clumsy, but a way.
