Hi all,

Using registered SkyDemon on Android tablet and cell phone.

I would like to know if it's possible to know the last time/date my SkyDemon data for Notams, Weather and Maps was updated. In the Weather I can, of course, look at the METAR and TAF's times, but for Notam's I would like to be certain I'm using the most updated information available for servers. I have come across with error messages (white window with red letters) concerning information updates but I can't seem to find a place to see if I have the latest data for my route.

Is there a place in Skydemon I can make sure I'm using up to date information or, what was the last time for a sucessfull update?

Thank you,
Pedro Sousa

If your NOTAM are out of date, SkyDemon will display a large red warning telling you so, at the top of the NOTAM briefing.

Thank you for your answer Tim.

I understand this is the case with existing NOTAM's on the device, but I might be the case there are new NOTAM's available already. I was really looking for the last update time from the servers so I would be sure of the last time I picked up updated information. Not possible?

Not possible, and not necessary either. They amount to the same thing. If for ANY reason the NOTAM briefing being displayed is out of date, SkyDemon will positively tell you so. It doesn't really matter whether it's because SkyDemon hasn't been able to talk to our servers or any other reason.

Tim, thank you again for your quick answer.

So just to be perfectly clear for me. If I download the latest Notam's and the device cannot sync anymore the only time I will get a warning is when some Notam's get of out of date/time.
I will not be able to understand if there are new or changed Notam's because the device is unable to check this.

If you device is offline for any reason, you get a warning in the Warnings tab.

Regarding NOTAM specifically, you'll see a notice there if the briefing is out of date for ANY reason.

Why is it not possible to display the time stamp of the last complete successful syncing on top of the notam and weather section tab? Especially when you know you have a bad slow internet connection it will give me a better feeling that the data are updated!!!

Secondly, i also mentioned several times before that a running time stamp on the weather animation screen is really necessary, otherwise the animation is only a verry verry vage guessing!!!

Because there is absolutely no value in displaying such a timestamp. SkyDemon does all sorts of syncing and data for one FIR may have synced but another not. All you should care about is whether the NOTAM briefing is valid, or out of date (invalid). That is what we tell you, very clearly, with the presence of a big red warning in the latter case.

Tim,

I think we are just looking for assurance that we are using the absolute latest updates when we takeoff or loose internet connectivity prior to the flight as there is no way to force a sync. I understand it's a complicated process and a specific date/time is not possible by your explanation but maybe something like this (sorry for the reference to another software) would be enough:

Thank you,
Pedro Sousa

You know you are leaving with the absolute latest updates because there is no big red warning being shown.

SkyDemon doesn't need a special button to reassure you of that. Our system is always up-to-date, or if it isn't, tells you explicitly.
