Is it me or is the Whitegate NDB (next to Oulton Park VRP) not shown on the current SkyDemon charts?

ENR 4.1 no longer lists it, so it must have been decommissioned at some point.

Interestingly, it's still shown on Liverpool's NANTI 2V departure chart, but not listed as a Liverpool (nor Manchester) 'owned' navaid, so I guess that's just a mistake, as the track is actually defined by a radial from HON.

That's interesting -- it was operating as usual a few nights ago when we were inbound to Liverpool from Sleap. Approach issued the instruction "leave Whitegate on heading 290", so evidently they still seem to think it's extant.

Even odder is I couldn’t pick it up about three weeks ago when I tried to tune in to it, but that could have equally been me!

Just checked this morning on an MF receiver and WHI is still doing its thing on 368.5kHz -- as it was the other night. Spoke to the Liverpool supervisor who said that as far as he was concerned it was definitely still in service.

All very curious. Maybe NATS wants to discourage the use of en-route NDBs.

Just to wrap this up, the Whitegate NDB is no longer listed in the IAIP at ENR 4.1 but is still extant in GEN 2.5. So presumably it ought to be shown on UK charts. I've dropped a note to SkyDemon along those lines and hopefully they'll put it back.

If it's in GEN 2.5 but in neither ENR 4.1 nor an AD entry, that is probably an error on the part of NATS. It is correct, as it currently stands, that we do not have it in our charts, because it's not published with all its information (frequency, location etc) in the AIP.

According to an e-mail from the NATS AIS Supervisor just now, "The NDB is still in service but it is now AD only and still published in the AIP on Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester charts."
