Hi,
‌Would it be possible to display strategic spot height (elevation) figures on high ground like CAA charts do?

I think we don, don't we?

We may not have selected the same ones as any specific paper chart, of course, but spot heights are definitely ‌‌included in SkyDemon.

Thanks Tim,
‌I do see them, mainly above 1500'.
‌Would you please add more to intermediate high ground, say 500-1000'

Ian

I agree that more spot heights would be useful.

Flying on Saturday in lowering cloud and rising ground, it would have been nice to have had a few more spot heights, to have been able to make a more informed decision on which way to divert.

Hi Tim,

Would you be prepared to add more spot heights to the map?
Best regards,

Roger

It's not like we pick and choose which spot heights are available. In general, if it becomes clear there is a significant demand for more spot heights, we would then need to investigate algorithms by which we could generate them and (more importantly) algorithms by which we could dynamically choose which were important enough to show at which zoom level, and in a system that would be likely to please everybody.

It's not simple.‌‌

If it becomes clear there is a significant demand for this (so far, there is not) we would begin to investigate the feasibility.

Obviously not much demand, but can I put it another way ? As a NATS type chart is offered surely the spot heights on the 1/2 mil chart should be shown.

Actually since this thread was started, we did redo our spot heights and now feature many more, which are shown depending on your zoom level.

Copying them from any specific paper chart is not something we would do, however.
