I contacted Garmin and they suggested updating the software on the GLO to 2.8 (I've already done that) and try disconnecting the iPad from the GLO and reconnecting (already done that).
I also tried resetting network settings.
None of this has worked.
Garmin said that no-one else had contacted them about this issue, but they would contact their USA development team if it persists.
I replied and said it was persisting and had been raised on forums.

Ian - wondering who you spoke to, was it Garmin UK?  I filled in an online form and suspect it went to them in the US.  It may be a plan to post the email you received with their email, I will then email them quoting your communication to try and put some pressure on, what do you think?

Here is the reply that I received from Garmin UK:

  Dear Ian,

This isn’t something that has been reported to me by other users, but perhaps that is because iOS 10 is quite new. It will be worth trying to update your GLO software to see if this helps with the problem. You can do so using Webupdater, from the link below:

http://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=999-99999-27

Just connect the GLO to the PC and run the software to update.

You may also wish to try deleting and re-adding the GLO in the Bluetooth settings on your iPad.

If this makes no difference, let me know and I will pass this on to our US development team for investigation.

Many thanks,

Thanks Ian, the only thing missing is the email address they sent it to you from? I'll need that to email them with what I have had from the US.

At US support they should be aware, I already have 2 emails from them confirming the issue and that they are working on a fix.

their US support email would be: aviation.support@garmin.com

Rob,

Thank you for contacting Garmin International.

We have experienced problems before in the past connecting our products with Apple devices after Apple issued a new software update. Typically, these issues are resolved shortly after our development team has had a chance to relay this information to Apple and a new software revision is created. Unfortunately, there is not a clear time frame when a revised update will be available, but our development team understands the importance of the GLO and is actively working on a fix.

Best Regards,

Ian

Hi,
Since updating to IOS 10 I am also having problems with GLO - but also with my connection to Bang & Olufsen bluetooth loudspeakers. When playing music from my Ipad with IOS 10 I have several fallout of sound. If I use my old Iphone 4S with IOS 9.3.5 there is no problem.
Seem that this is an Apple problem with bluetooth and not Garmin GLO. Maybe?

All

Got the following responses from Garmin Europe and USE.

USA:

Unfortunately since this is an iOS issue, we do not have a set ETA for the solution. We are hoping that a new iOS release will fix the bluetooth issues because it not only involves the GLO, but other devices as well.

and Europe:

Based upon what we know so far, this is indeed a problem with iOS 10. The issue is only occurring with that version of the operating system. As my colleague says we are working with them to find a solution to this. It’s likely this will require some action on their part so I can’t provide a timescale, but as soon as we have some progress we will let you know. I’m sorry about the issues in the mean time.

Nothing much more to say, seems it's an iOS issue which is a little worrying to wonder where we are in Apples priorities.  Interesting that the comment was made above about Bluetooth speakers, if it's a wider connection problem hopefully they'll be more inclined to push out a fix sooner.

I just had a similar reply.
Hopefully, because this seems to be affecting a number of Bluetooth devices, including Bluetooth headphones, Apple will get on with the fix sooner rather than later.
Boy do I wish I hadn't bothered to update to iOS 10!

Looks like I am having similar problems with connecting my Dual XGPS150 to my ipad mini.  the Dual monitoring app cannot see the XGPS150 either despite the bluetooth section in Settings showing that it is connected.  I have installed the latest firmware for the Dual but no difference.

I am using the following
Ipad mini2
IOS 10.0.2
SD 3.6.6.55

Think I will d/g to 9.3 this evening.

Think I have solved it.  Had the mode switch in the wrong setting for Ipad.  Doh!

No I haven't!  Went flying on Saturday and "Waiting for position data" came on several times.  During a particularly prolonged spell of waiting for data, I checked the Dual Status app and, whilst there was plenty of satellite data, the app was not showing any position info.  Very Strange.  I emailed Dual but so far had no response.
