Version 3.6.3.28529 on Android
I use Nexus 7 Mk1 for SD On a recent flight I found the Nexus would not receive Satellite signals . I have three Nexi (!) and investigating I have found two of them do not get the signals. One works fine, as does my Asus android phone The two faulty ones do work with PilotAware OK, suggesting that when "go flying" somehow these early Nexi have a problem with the latest release.

If SkyDemon endlessly reports "Waiting for Location Data", the problem is definitely not SkyDemon. After all, if there were anything more we could do to get your location data, of course we would do it!
The problem is likely either that your device is not receiving a GPS signal, or that its location services are not passing its location on to the SkyDemon app. Obviously both are beyond our control, but you could easily verify by using another app that displays GPS position. You might want to check your privacy/security settings to see whether someone has blocked SkyDemon from being able to access your location.

I too have the same problem. After selecting go flying followed by FLARM to connect to PilotAware it tells me that GPS data is not available. If I go through the Connectivity options menu and select FLARM from there it connects to PilotAware with no problem as it used to do before the latest update.

Found the answer to the problem When upgraded to the latest 17August SD version with the cloud picture two of my three Nexuses would not receive satellite data. The one that still worked was Android version 4.1.2 The ones that didn't were 4.4.4 On upgrading these to 5.0.2 they worked but we're pretty slow.

My nexus 7 2012(4.4.4) was working...then started not seeing satellites. I noted that the location services icon was always displaying(but not giving location to apps), unless location services were turned off, whereas it used to just pop up when required by SD, google maps etc.
Update: Did a reset, allowed all updates , then installed latest beta....seems ok Edit: I spoke too soon, it's back, uninstalled SD,reboot and it's gone. I'll give 3.6.2 a go. Any ideas?

I use SD (3.6.2.19250) on a Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone. Over the past few weeks, very intermittently, I find the GPS won't lock for some reason although it worked perfectly a few hours earlier in the same physical position (panel mounted). I have no idea what is causing this but is very intermittent and for me the fix is to recycle the power on my smartphone. Tony

well tried 3.6.2 and 3.6.1 then uninstalled SD, still getting the location services(but not working)... I'm at a loss...this is a bare bones 4.4.4 installation, I keep thinking it's gone, but then reappears on reboot if left off for a few hours???

Pete,
Try loading some other type of navigation application to see if you can pin down the source of the problem. ViaMichelin have a free road nav app which works very well and uses the GPS. Tony

Hi, thanks, been using other nav apps, doesn't seem to make any difference as i think its related to location services function. FWIW here is what i have found, much/all may be irrelevant! .........Comments please. I noted that the problem of the location services icon seemed to be accompanied by the wifi icon dropping out transiently, sometimes with reports of no connection but subsequently working.(4.4.4) After numerous resets, i have found that setting location mode to high accuracy(wifi, networks etc) seems to precipitate the problem. So after reset,on setup select device only(not high accuracy), set google play not to auto update,if you subsequently select high accuracy then problems return and reset is necessary. We'll see.............. regards Pete
