Being a bloke, I just upgraded my licenced version of Sky Demon to version 2.0, without bothering to look for any caviat information.



Upon starting, I've noticed that my plane data has now disappeared. If I look in C:\Documents and Settings\*******\Application Data\Divelements Limited\SkyDemon Plan\settings.xml then the information is still there in the .xml file.



Is this a bug? Is there any way I can import the information from the .xml file?

Damn! Closing SkyDemon and re-opening it now seems to have overwritten the settings.xml file, which has now deleted my aircraft!



Looks like I'll have to re-enter the data again. A little bit annoying. I guess I should have exported them first, but it would have been nice to have had some sort of warning.

We put special code in there to import aircraft from previous installations, so I apologise that it clearly hasn't worked in your case. If anyone else experiences this it would be really helpful to have a copy of your old settings file.

Ironically it's the change to file-based aircraft, which eliminates the future loss of aircraft definitions, that has resulted in this loss.

My plane data has gone as well and although I still have the aircraft file I can't find a way to import it.

I also put the a/c file on the forum, but when I take the 'find or post a/c defs online' option and then click on the file all that happens is I get taken to the main forum page.

I did try copying the file into the 'aircraft' folder, but no joy.

ho hum, after copy and pasting the file the a/c did not appear, but then when I closed down Skydemon and started it again, the a/c was there, so that's my problem solved!

Yes, any aircraft definitions exported from a previous version can just be placed into your Aircraft folder within your SkyDemon folder and next time SkyDemon is started they will be part of your library.
