Hello,

In all my Pilot Logs, the planned TAS keeps constant along the whole flight, despite the fact that I have configured the climb and descent speeds in the aircraft profile (same happens with default aircraft profile).

I would expect the TAS to be reduced/increased to the climb/descent TAS in these flight portions. What point do I miss?
I am on the newest SD releases on both PC (3.5.1.0) and iPad/iPhone.

Many thanks, Peter

The IAS/TAS column in the PLOG is the cruise speed you have picked for that leg. If the leg is spent entirely in a climb or descent, therefore, the value is essentially meaningless and not needed.

Thanks Tim.
Based on the available aircraft performance (climb speed and rate of climb, cruise speed) and the leg distance and altitude difference, would it be a big deal to compute the resulting leg average speed an have it there instead of the TAS?

The resulting leg average speed is there as the groundspeed column. An average IAS/TAS for a leg involving both a cruise and a climb/descent would be fairly meaningless, surely.

So if I have a climb for a long time e.g. Up to FL100, does SD compute the time I need for the climb or does it calculate with the cruise speed?

It calculates the precise time and fuel consumption for every part of your flight including climbs and descents. But the TAS column in the PLOG is the selected cruise speed for the leg.
