A NOTAM created a ZIT, but the NOTAM is badly transcribed on Skydemon
- ZIT's Center is slightly off (should be around Kerlouan)
- Diameter is reported as 10NM, when it should be 1NM

How am I supposed to notify this to the Skydemon team?

Thanks,
Tim Dawson

Hi, this is not an error by SkyDemon. The NOTAM has a radius of 10 miles; that is how it's published so that's how we display it. If you believe it should have been published with a smaller radius it is the French NOTAM office that you should talk to.

Hmm, it looks like you are absolutely right the NOTAM is malformed.

Line Q (the one you read) indicates a location and size different from the one in Line E which refers to SUP AIP 145/15
https://www.sia.aviation-civile.gouv.fr/dossier/supaipmetro/SUP_2015_145_EN.pdf

And this document says:
LOCATION

ZIT KERLOUANLateral limits :

Circle radius 1 NM centred on : 48°38'16'' N - 004°21'03'' W

Vertical limits :

SFC / 2000FT AMSL

I have no idea of how to notify this to SIA (in charge of the NOTAMS), but I'll do it.

BTW, I can tell you that Line E is the RIGHT one as the NOTAM sits around an Antenna whose location I know well, and 10NM would block all traffic in the area.

ps: No idea of how to have the SIA website display the Q line... They only display the text based lanes.

Please let us know how SIA respond when you inform them of the NOTAM production error.

Got the SIA's answer.
For them there is no mistake.

The Q line gives a wider area that encompasses both the ZIT and another area affected by the ZIT while the E line refers to a doc defining the ZIT and its smaller surface.

The main point is that for them the area of the NOTAM is not and does not have to be the area of the ZIT

That is a shame. There is no benefit for an ANSP to publish a NOTAM larger than the affected area, but there is a big drawback for customers who need to use the data to brief themselves.

Totally agree with you, got the emails exchange if you are interested and can read French. Their last reply was 100% about legality and rules, and 0% about "customer" experience and usability...
